Design Technician
The Design Technician will assist in developing designs for electrical distribution systemsby proficiently collecting field data and subsequently completing drafting assignments using AutoCAD. This role necessitates a blend of both office-based and field-related responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
-
Utilize AutoCAD to develop Electrical Distribution drawings as directed by Engineering Technicians and Engineers.

Obtain required land base and underground utility information when necessary.

Create design layouts within AutoCAD.

Create drawings intended for construction purposes.
-
Create drawings with meticulous accuracy, adhering to scale and encompassing all pertinent details.

Implement essential revisions to drawings while also drafting "as-built" drawings.

Uphold established aesthetic design benchmarks and specifications.

Organize and archive both digital and physical copies of drawings.

Create drawings for the design of Electrical Distribution systems.

Uphold predefined technical design criteria and specifications.
Site Visit

Utilize surveying instruments and relevant documentation to gather on-site information (including cable elevations, distances, pole characteristics, environmental context, etc.) as mandated by the project's extent.

Requirments
-
Completion of a post-secondary diploma/degree in Electrical or Civil Engineer/Technician/Technologist (or a similar field) or relevant practical background; having participated in a co-op program is mandatory.

Adept in utilizing AutoCAD software.

Solid aptitude in mathematical principles.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
